Wall with Heating vent
Mixed Media, 48 x 36, 2019, $1800
Symbolic vent on a wall of ripped and torn posters and advertising, signifying that it is just a bunch of hot air being posted.
Growing up in the Detroit area of Michigan during the automobile boom of the 60’s and 70’s has played a major role and influence on how I approach my work today. The use of bright colors, bold shapes and a desired sense of perspective, all of which express an individuality or point view toward the subject matter.
I am characterizing my work as “Emotive Expressionism” The linking and freedom of different styles, techniques and applications. The sum of which creates a visual dialogue between medium, form and content.
I am always interested in the expression of the artist stroke, being able to embody both light and transparency on one surface plane.
