Morning Glory
encaustic, 6"x6"x0, 2018, $250
My work currently reflects an optimistic, colorful, and sometimes whimsical view of the world around me.
A hopeful contrast to the often disturbing and inequitable world in which we also live.
I have been a practicing artist for over 30 years. My point of departure has often been landscape, the natural world, and travel.
I react to what I see. For years it was the tulips fields north of Seattle. Prior to that, Nepal and Antarctica triggered much work. Currently, I have been looking at birds.
At some point I became entranced with metal, took welding classes and produced a number of 3-d paintings in steel. I am currently working on some large outdoor pieces...dinosaurs of a whimsical nature, as well as continuing 2-d encaustic paintings.
