The Goods Goddess
Glass/Mixed Media, 25 x 20 x 7 inches, 2019, $4800
Originally, paraphernalia was property that a married woman owned herself-as opposed to her husband's property or the dowry she brought to the marriage. Paraphernalia came to English, via Medieval Latin, from Greek parapherna, meaning "bride's property beyond her dowry" (from para-, meaning "beyond," and phernē, meaning "dowry").
My sculptural work is figurative and reflects the world around me. I like to browse ancient art and mythology, art nouveau & deco figurines, pre-columbian pottery, people- watching, tropical vacations, google Images and musicals of the 50’s. I stuff my back pockets with Chagall, Takamori, Fay Jones, the NY Times and comic strips. In my striving for aesthetic appeal and classical elegance, I inadvertently inject humor & joy into my work.

I find contentment by creating glass and mixed media sculpture, teaching boro and neon workshops, hanging out with friends in our 100 year old USFS cabin, and traveling the world.
