Self-taught visual artist Kelley Knickerbocker left a 22-yr administrative career at the UW in 2006 to begin creating ruggedly dimensional works combining assemblage and mosaic. Her work focuses on contrast and material properties, and in 2015 garnered her the Innovation in Contemporary Mosaic award from the Society of American Mosaic Artists. Kelley exhibits regularly in the US and abroad, and is featured in several mosaic books. Kelley travels extensively teaching mosaic style and technique, and speaking on creativity and art as practice.
