A mature magnolia blossom (Magnolia grandiflora )from our back yard evergreen magnolia tree. Title is after the poem by Tony Hoagland
Inspired by nature and Japanese fabric motifs, my work distills movement and form into vibrant compositions. Thick texture creates focal points that rise like memories, while delicate transparency evokes fleeting light. I explore the tension between contrast and harmony, stillness and energy, using layered textures to bring nature’s rhythms to life.
Creativity is as physical as it is visual - I want my work to stir something visceral, to capture the way nature stops us mid-step—not just to be seen, but to be felt.
Born in Idaho and nurtured by the enchanting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, I am deeply inspired by the majesty of nature and the unique, low-angled light that graces this region. The local topography and natural beauty have always resonated with my soul, compelling me to capture the emotional essence of these moments in my artwork. My passion for travel fuels my excitement for discovering new places and meeting diverse people, enriching my artistic journey.
