Hideaway

This is where I find my peace and quiet, in a hideaway, surrounded by nature, a beautiful sunset, and mystery. This painting was created over the course of a year, returning to it at a leisurely pace from a place of play and stillness.

I create intuitive acrylic paintings as a way to connect the subconscious dreamscape into the present moment. I am inspired by the stillness, self exploration and connection art has to offer in this world. Every moment I am outside I see the beauty in nature, and as I dive inward I make sense of conscious and subconscious concepts through the visual arts. I enjoy finding ways to intertwine abstraction with realism and all the places in-between, lately this is shown through the relationship of the fluid acrylic paint and paintbrush work.

Born in Romania, IOANA moved to America in early childhood. She comes from a highly spiritual and hard working background. Growing up in a strong traditional household while navigating the diverse cultural landscape of America has inspired IOANA to see what is beyond the physical. Having resonated with painting as a medium to transcribe an emotion, mental state, or perspective, IOANA learned to lean into the mentors around her and the creative experience itself to guide her continuing education.
