Flora Ramirez-Bustamante
Stanwood, Washington
Red
Oil and cold wax on canvas , 48 x 48 x 2, 2024-2025
Flora Ramirez-Bustamante’s paintings blend elements of modernist repertoires with aspects of everyday life and symbols from her personal history. By appropriating established art-historical genres, she creates fictional objects that never existed, imbuing them with an everyday lyric presence. These objects often reveal a sense of imbalance or imperfections in their composition, conveying the vulnerability of her inner world.
Flora Ramirez-Bustamante is a Spanish-born artist based in Stanwood, Washington. Trained as a linguist, she represents the second generation of self-taught artists in her family.

Ramirez-Bustamante has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows across Seattle, Oregon, and Hawaii. She is currently a member of Shift Gallery in Seattle (www.shiftgallery.org).
