Suze Woolf paints landscapes and environmental change, and she is also a book artist.
She says: "I've met my goal if a viewer asks, 'Why did the artist do that?'"
While I love beauty, I am fascinated by subjects not usually considered "art-worthy," like burned or beetle-killed trees. I love collaborating with scientists and other artists. My best work contains both awe and ambivalence, joy and anxiety."
Suze has been drawing all her life. After an initial undergraduate degree, she pursued fifth-year studies in printmaking and ceramics at the University of Washington. Her professional career has included graphic design of printed materials and interface designs for commercial and prototype software applications. She likes to bring attention to what people don’t usually notice and finds intense visual experiences everywhere she looks.
