I am a painter and eco-activist inspired by west coast landscapes, ecology, and the human connection to nature. Through my paintings, I seek to expand the concept of "we" to include our full global community, flora and fauna. We all live under one sky, we all eat, drink or breathe from a collective pool of resources. My landscapes share impressions of place and time, in an offering of visual stories of my own relationship with nature. My goal is to inspire and celebrate connection with others. We are nature, we all have that and more in common.
Teresa Stern is a NW artist inspired by nature. She brings her background in sustainable architecture and eco education to her art practice, using a plastic-free palette of walnut oil paints, plant-based solvent and varnishes, and cellulose and mineral grounds. She is the founder and curator of the eco advocacy project The Art of Sustainability, and is a volunteer Tree Librarian with The Last 6000 seeking to save Seattle's remaining significant trees.
