Teenage Jesus Flips the Bird
Digital Collage/Print, 24x24x1, 2026
Teenage Jesus Flips the Bird is the first of 35 pieces in Apocalypse Wow! My book is an illuminated satire linking classical, medieval, and modern motifs, applying themes from the Book of Revelation to white Xtian nationalism and the current situation. Cf. Rev. 1.
The day after the Nov. 2024 election, I began a series that grew into an illuminated manuscript, Apocalypse Wow! It flips themes and characters from the Book of Revelation onto Christian nationalism and its political ilk. As a satirist, I use words and images to create Shandyesque tales and possibly evoke curses. My goal is to transform classical, medieval, modern, and pop culture into what Laurence Sterne calls, "A cock and a bull story...And one of the best of its kind."
